Conferences like Convergence Africa are great steps in the right direction. Trade and economic development are the key to making Africa work. Non-profits have failed to solve the problems and free market capitalism has yet to be given the chance. I think Dan Pallotta's book Uncharitable has insights that can help the world move to a new model of for-profit social entrepreneurship. This will bring the brightest talents of the world to the table and they will find solutions.
